Announcements from MR. AMAVISCA

Hey Huskies!

Seniors!

Time to really ramp up your efforts on applying for scholarships using Going Merry.  Deadline to submit a big chunk of those scholarships is Feb 7, 2025.  Sounds far away, but it is only 2 weeks away.  You need the following to submit your apps:

  • Three (3) short essays: Personal Statement, Community Service/Activities, and Financial need.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation: Can be from teachers, counselors, coaches, managers, etc.
  • Digital copy of your current transcript.  You can get a copy using the Transcript link on the Career Center Website.
  • Any other documents, pictures, certificates etc, that you feel will need to be attached.

Come see me in the Career Center if you need help figuring out the Going Merry Platform.

FAFSA/CADAA - Don't forget to complete your FAFSA/CADAA so that you can qualify for financial aid!  Even if your parents make good money, you should complete the FAFSA/CADAA so that you can be eligible to apply for loans if needed.  If you do not plan to submit your FAFSA, you will need to sign an Opt-Out form.  There is a law that was put into place in 2023 that states that schools must either have students submit a FAFSA/CADAA Application or sign an Opt-out form.  The form is available for printing on the Career Center website.
