Hey Huskies!
Mr. Ruben Amavisca has been a part of the Career Center since Hanford West opened up as it's own high school. Mr. Amavisca is a graduate of Corcoran High School and attended COS, West Hills College, Feather River College, and Fresno State! Go Dogs! Mr. Amavisca is also very involved in the Marching Band world as an instructor, designer, and adjudicator.
Ruben is extremely passionate about his job and tries his best to do what is best for all students at Hanford West.

Seniors,
Now that you have submitted your UC and/or your CSU applications it is time to get your FAFSA submitted and start working on your SCHOLARSHIPS! I will be hosting an evening Going Merry Scholarship Workshop on Thursday, December 11, 2025. There will be 2, 1-hour sessions. 6:00pm - 7:00om and 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Tutoring! - If you are struggling in any of your classes, or think you might struggle, be sure to take advantage of our tutoring program here in the Career Center. We once again have Angel Mendoza, Asia Sivongxay, and Ciara Dulay available to help you stay up to date with your classes. You can sign up to be called in for tutoring on the "Tutoring Page" of this website.

Going Merry is our Scholarship Program to apply not only to State and National Scholarships, but also to the over 90 Local Scholarships offered through the HJUHSD Local Scholarship Program. I am working on a new flyer, but...the QR Code does work for class of 2026.
