Hey Huskies!
Mr. Ruben Amavisca has been a part of the Career Center since Hanford West opened up as it's own high school. Mr. Amavisca is a graduate of Corcoran High School and attended COS, West Hills College, Feather River College, and Fresno State! Go Dogs! Mr. Amavisca is also very involved in the Marching Band world as an instructor, designer, and adjudicator.
Ruben is extremely passionate about his job and tries his best to do what is best for all students at Hanford West.

SENIORS - Keep working on your Scholarships!
Although the Going Merry Scholarship application deadline has passed, there are still quite a few scholarships available that you can apply for. You'll need to visit the "Scholarship & Financial Aid" page. Once on the page, click the "Additional Scholarships" tab to access the scholarships. If you need assistance, please come see me in the Career Center.
Don't forget to create your "Portal Accounts" at the schools that you have applied to, and check you "College Email" regularly. This is where colleges will request any additional forms you may need to provide

Going Merry is our Scholarship Program to apply not only to State and National Scholarships, but also to the over 90 Local Scholarships offered through the HJUHSD Local Scholarship Program. I am working on a new flyer, but...the QR Code does work for class of 2026.
