Announcements from MR. AMAVISCA

Hey Huskies!

Seniors!

Now that the deadline for most of the Local Scholarship Program has passed, I just want to let you know that your opportunity to apply to scholarship is not over.  There are still scholarships being added to Going Merry and the CC Website for you to apply to.  If you have been notified of scholarships that you have won, please forward that information to me here in the Career Center so that we can include you in the Scholarships Awards Ceremony and digital program.  I you have won a scholarship that was reported directly to you, they may have not reported it to me here in the Career Center.  If you would like that scholarships awarded to you at Scholarship night, please fill out the "Self Reporting Scholarship Award" form so that we can include it in the awards night list.  You can also send me copies of your award letter or email that informed you that you have won.

Click here to fill out the "Student Scholarship Self Report" form.

FAFSA/CADAA Application/Financial Aid - Don't forget to complete your FAFSA/CADAA so that you can qualify for financial aid!  Even if your parents make good money, you should complete the FAFSA/CADAA so that you can be eligible to apply for loans if needed.  If you do not plan to submit your FAFSA, you will need to sign an Opt-Out form.  There is a law that was put into place in 2023 that states that schools must either have students submit a FAFSA/CADAA Application or sign an Opt-out form.  The form is available for printing on the Career Center website.

Seniors - Final Transcript requests - College Bound Huskies!  For those of you attending college in the Fall of 2025, you will need to request a "Final Transcript" from the Hanford West Registrar so that she can send your transcripts to the College/University you will be attending.  Flyers and posters will be posted in your Econ/Gov classes, the main office, and the Career Center with QR codes to the proper forms.  You have 2 options:

Option 1:  HW Registrar - fill out the Google form requesting the transcript from our Registrar.  This option is free of charge.  These transcripts will be mailed out via the United States Postal Service. We will post a notice on the Career Center Website, social media, and Parent Square when they have been mailed.

Option 2:  Parchment - Scan the QR code and you will be sent to the Parchment Website dedicated to HW.  These transcripts are sent digitally.  A minimum fee of $5.00 will be assessed for each transcript requested.  Parchment allows you to track your order and you will be able to see when your college has received it.
