Kirsten Barnes, Lead Counselor
Mrs. Barnes joined the Hanford West team in 2000 after spending seven years at Earl F. Johnson High School as both a teacher and School Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and Teaching Credential from Mt. Saint Mary's College in 1993, then went on to complete her Master of Arts in Education and Pupil Personnel Services credential at Fresno Pacific University in 1997. Outside of work, Mrs. Barnes loves relaxing at the beach, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her beloved fur babies. Though she is a proud alumna of Hanford High, she will forever be a Husky.

Mr. Forbes joined the Hanford West Counseling team in 2009. He was previously at Hanford High School for four years. He graduated from Fresno State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He then attended National University and earned a Masters Degree in Educational Counseling along with a Pupil Personnel Credential. He has several hobbies, a couple of them are saltwater aquarium keeping, cycling, collecting G-Shock watches, and Nike sneakers. He enjoys listening to 70's Funk and Soul music!

Mrs. Madera joined the Hanford West counseling team in 2015. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology. She then attended CSU Bakersfield and earned her Masters in School Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services credential.
